NORTH SAANICH SANCTUARY
Located in North Saanich, this peaceful garden sanctuary reflects a deep commitment to beauty, craft, and quiet living. The landscape has been shaped to feel both intentional and effortless, inviting visitors to slow down the moment they step onto the property. Modern concrete slabs weave gently through soft, billowing plantings, creating a graceful rhythm across the garden and guiding movement toward a low deck that extends the home’s kitchen and living spaces into the outdoors. At the heart of the garden, a corten steel water feature with a built-in bench provides a serene place to pause. The gentle sound of water and the warmth of the metal offer an inviting nook for morning tea or a reflective moment throughout the day. Nearby, a cedar hot tub and fire pit rest beneath the canopy of a wise old cedar tree — a sheltered, year-round gathering place where family and friends can connect in comfort. Cedar fencing paired with stands of bamboo encloses the lawn and play space with a sense of privacy and gentle enclosure, giving the garden its own distinct sense of retreat. Throughout the planting beds, dahlias rise tall and radiant, a joyful nod to the client’s care and personal touch. Their vivid colours animate the space, while the family’s chickens roam freely through the woodland edges, completing the feeling of a lived-in, peaceful haven where nature and daily life blend seamlessly.
